Get Reel update

Fundraiser for Feis Fhoirt

Sara says following on from the great night at Fintry as our agent we have another gig for you in August. It is a fundraiser for Feis Fhoirt (Feis Forth) which is a new Feis for 8-18yrs old only this time! - however whilst Get Reel are not represented on the committee we are as associates they have plenty of parents involved. The dates for the Feis weekend is 12th and 13th of September at the Camelon Education Centre in Falkirk. So keep that free if you have kids that would be interested. She will email a poster soon for folks to help circulate and confirm gig date.! it'd be great if you could do your 3 sets again.

COMMITTEE MEETING 2ND JUNE

We are all going to have a Committee meeting after the last official Get Reel on 2nd June AT THE OLD MILL ,maybe or in the barn? Discussion will include: admin help, events, programme for summer sessions/BBQ's hopefully lots!!!, blog site, funding applications..

7th JUNE GATHERIN -TRAINING PROJECT - KILLEARN VILLAGE HALL 3-6PM

Please could you all let me know if you can make this date as we have got some Riverside and Blackford folks planning on coming along and it'd be great if we can have a programme of mixture of session, each group playing, ceilidh as well as organise a series of workshops using other spaces with the trainee tutors - hopefully there will be at least one each for fiddles, guitars and whistles. individual lessons might even be possible.

MONDAY 15TH JUNE

Training Project evaluation meeting - this has been going well with Kath and Abi being involved with shadowing Ruaridh and helping teach each week at the kids classes. We hope Kath will get some practice this Tuesday evening for a while teaching you all a tune in common with the other groups on the project.

9th and 16th JUNE - Training Project..

I am proposing a couple more adult class weeks (without tutors!) as it be good for Kath and Abi to get some more teaching practice in and just generally all getting together socially. I will check with Caroline if you are all up for that. Perhaps guitars happy to get together and have a self help night!.
