GET REEL NEW TERM - 30th August - 31st November

Dear members and new beginners,

Please find below information on classes, times, instrument hire and fees for the start of term next week.

Classes start next week Tuesday 30th August 2011

 

Childrens Classes in Fiddle, Guitar and Whistle 
at Balfron High School Maths Department.

 

Information for New Beginners

On arrival at the High School Reception please look for our table to the left where you will be be asked to sign the Fire Register (including parents/carers and other siblings) and given directions up to the Maths Department or asked to follow the arrows we will put in place from Reception.

When you arrive in the Maths Department there will be the main Get Reel desk where you will get any information you require and be asked to complete a registration form, arrange instrument hire and sign your child in.

On a weekly basis unless otherwise agreed we will expect you to sign your child in and out at this desk before and after class and we will not let them leave the Maths Department until they are collected. Get Reel cannot be responsible for your child elsewhere in the building other than the Maths Department. We also have to ask you to make sure your children are as quiet as possible and not allowed to run about to and from the classes as there are other users ; especially a yoga class in the building at this time.

There is an option to wait in the break out space in the Maths Department during the classes but most parents/carers choose to use the facilities downstairs at the Sports Hall/Pool.
* Please could New Beginners arrive at least ten minutes before their class is due to start to aid administration.

Costs 
Fees
Payable in 6 week blocks on 30th August and 19th October - £6 per week payable in 6 week blocks £36 plus membership* of Get Reel.

(Please note that New Beginners can pay following attending the first class or for one week should they decide not to continue)

*Get Reel Membership -  £10 children and £20 Family

Instrument Hire - Get Reel have fiddles - sizes half, three quarters and full as well as guitars half and full size for hire. Costs £10/term.

ADULT CLASSES in Fiddle and Guitar 
(Unfortunately there will be no mandolin class this term  - those in the class will be contacted separately about this)Ceilidh Barn, Fintry Road, 7 - 8.30pm until the October break.

Cost £10 per week.

 

Forthcoming events/Dates for your Diary

 

Groupwork Sessions

We also intend running groupwork sessions and meet up on Sunday afternoons for tunes over the Winter months and will send you more information shortly.

We also hope to join up with Lochgoilhead Fiddle Workshop for a joint event one Sunday.

 

Killearn Country Market Sat 3rd September

A group of children and tutors will play/busk at this.

 

Feis Fhoirt - 24th and 25th September - a weekend of classes for kids 8-18 at the Camelon Centre Falkirk.

 

Fiddle 2011 Edinburgh - 18th -20th November

 

Get Reel - St Andrews Celebrations as part of Scotlands Winter Festivals - Saturday 26th November

in association with The Tolbooth- a great night with a concert and ceilidh with Get Reel as support.
